View of St George's Square, Valletta, showing Main Guard, a building erected in 1603 by the Knights of St John to house the palace guards (the Grand Masters Palace is at the opposite end of the square). The six-columned portico was added in 1814 by the British and some guards are visible standing underneath it and on its terrace.
