Tintype, modern Ebay This image was sold on Ebay by "dealer" - welove2buyjunk (631) around February 2012 and was highlighted by Jeremy Rowe on the Facebook page "Victorian Images" (25 February 2012) as an example of a copy of an image in the Library of Congress digital copies of the Liljenquist Family Collection of Civil War Portraits.
As the original image is out of copyright it is legal to make and sell copies the difficulty with Ebay is that it is being flooded with copies that misrepresent them as originals to add value.
