(Alan Griffiths, 4 November 2025) Nelson S. Hopkins was a member of a prominent local family in Amherst. It is unknown who took the photograph, as is frequently the case with tintypes, and although Nelson S. Hopkins was a keen photographer but it is not known who owned the photographic equipment in this photograph. Details confirmed by the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village.
