Photograph of soldiers from the 7th (Princess Royal's) Dragoon Guards who served in the Anglo-Egyptian War. Nine soldiers are standing in a row and there are three men lying on the ground in front of them. Private Clifford, lying in the middle, is looking through binoculars and the men to either side are pointing rifles. All are wearing military uniform. There is a building behind with three large windows with wooden shutters. The Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 repressed the nationalist 'Urabi Revolt and led to increased British control of Egypt. This photograph was taken in Cairo.
