Red Velour Pedestal Stereoscope

Stereoscopy
Private collection of C. Schwimmer
Per Paul Wing's book, p104. Plush red velour (Internet research stated that Velour didn't make its appearance until the mid-1800's), nickel plated metal. The photographed unit appears identical to the one pictured in Paul Wing's book. A square section receptacle at the top holds the stereoscope hood, and a similar fitting at the bottom can hold the hood for storage. Has large prismatic lenses. The sliding view adjustment tube also folds down for storage
