Hans Natge was one of the major German film photographers between 1920-1945. In his early work he incorporated pictorial aspects while experimenting with various pigment processes. His early film stills for Friedrich Murnau's "Faust" (1925/26) are highly artistic and show his technical talent in creating the atmosphere of the film. He made landscapes, as well such as the print offered here in the fine pigment technique.
