The work of photographer Egons Spuris stands out not only as a great achievement of Latvian photography, but also is an outstanding example of realism in the second half of the 20th century international visual art. His work follows modern tendencies such as Neue Sachlichkeit with remarkable vantage points and unorthodox camera angles but also has elements of American documentarists.
