Sherman Fairchild developed an aerial camera used by the Army. Fairchild Aerial Surveys, Inc. remained in business until 1965.
 
The Woolworth Tower was the world's tallest building until it was eclipsed by the Chrysler and the Empire State buildings in 1930.
