Albumen print Private collection of Ken Burkhart Prince Woronzoff (1782-1856) served as Governor-General of the southern regions of Russia following his service in France during the Napoleonic wars. He is credited for bringing a somewhat “English” aesthetic to the Alupka, Yalta region including his palace which was designed by two British architects who also designed a number of estates in the region.
