Carte de visite, back
Private collection, Ciudad Real, Spain
In 1870, the Gobernador Civil of the province of Córdoba, Spain, Julián de Zugasti, trying to fight against the increase of the crimes in the province, developed a pioneer project in Spain consistent in the making of albums with the file card, including photographs, of the bandoleros in jail, or in some moment under arrest. The idea was to distribute them among the Guardia Civil in order to facilitate the identifications and resolve false identities, among other points.
