Photograph of Seville Cathedral's bell tower, or Giralda, which stands at over 340 feet. The tower is richly decorated. The bronze female figure located on top of the tower is known as El Giraldillo and was executed in the 16th century. The figure holds the banner of Constantine. Mueddin summoned Muslims to prayer from this tower.
The Giralda occupies the site of the former Minaret that was part of the original Mosque built by the Moors.
