View of Rome from the Pavilion in the Orti Farnese, on the Palace of the Cesars, including, the church & Convent of S. Francesco, on the site of the temple of Venus & Rome, the West Side of the Coliseum & Arch of Titus, S. Giovanni in Laterano, & Arch of Constantine. In the foreground a walled vineyard belonging to the Orti Farnesi, with sticks to support the vines, edged with trees. More modern housing beyond and to the left of the arch of Constantine. The coliseum is in the centre right of the image. Rooftops on the horizon, rising on a hill to the right.
