View of the Central New York Conference Seminary, started in 1824, originally the Oneida and Genessee Conference Seminary, now Cazenovia College. The view is of the Seminary buildings located on the north side of Seminary Street. Cazenovia College is currently a four-year liberal arts college. H.S. Mather operated his photographic studio in the Ten Eyck block of Cazenovia. In 1871 a fire destroyed his studio. He opened up a new studio next door and later teamed up with Will Lyon.
