Photograph of Troop Sergeant Major Lewis of the Royal Engineers with a telegraph wagon during the Anglo-Egyptian War. He is standing facing partly left holding his helmet in his right hand and a sword in his left. The wagon is behind him and a building can be seen in the distance. The Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 repressed the nationalist 'Urabi Revolt and led to increased British control of Egypt.
