Edward Weston
1933
Portrait of Eleanora (Elinore) Stone

Silver contact print
4 1/2x3 5/8 ins (11.4x9.1 cm) (image)

Swann Galleries - New York
Feb 25, 2020 , Classic & Contemporary Photographs, Sale 2531, Lot 159

Weston apparently gifted this print to his paramour Lydia Parker; by descent to the Present Owner.

A print of this image is in the collection of University of California at Santa Cruz. Stone was the first wife of Weston's oldest son, Brett. In anticipation of a costume party Stone shaved her head to look like Harald Kreutzberg, the well-known dancer.
