A very rare print from a series Le Secq took in Trier, Germany close to the end of his photographic career. He stopped photographing in 1856 and devoted the remainder of his life to painting and collecting. Another view by Le Secq from this series of the Emperor's baths is in the collection of the Bibliothequè des arts decoratífs, Paris.
