Charles Richard Meade
1846
Daguerre

Daguerreotype
Société Française de Photographie
Note that in this portrait by Charles Meade all four fingers and the thumb of his left hand are showing. This Daguerreotype was used as the basis for the crystalotype made by J.A. Whipple and the Woodburytype that was presented with the Yearbook of Photography, 1881 that is incorrectly attributed to J.E. Mayall.

This illustration was included in the lecture "The many faces of Daguerre" presented by Matt Isenburg at the Daguerreian Society Symposium (2009).
