Photograph of an Indigenous Canadian woman in a head and shoulders length portrait in left side profile. Her hair is worn long and she wears a blanket with a long, thin bone fastening.

The T'sou-ke Nation derived their name from the Northern Straits Salish word for a species of stickleback fish that live nearby. The town of Sooke in British Columbia on the south of Vancouver Island takes its name from these people.
