Photograph of Isandlwana. It is a rocky hill which is higher to the left. It is surrounded by grassland and there are stones in the foreground. Isandlwana was the site of the Battle of Isandlwana, one of the early skirmishes of the Anglo-Zulu War (1879). It was one of the greatest defeats of the British Army by native forces.
