As their wet season pastures dry up, the Misseriya move south with their cattle in an annual migration which brings them to their dry season pastures in the Abyei area from December through April. The Misseriya move south from Nov-Dec and return north from May-June. The Misseriya and the Dinka compete over scarce water and grass for their cattle during the dry season. A Misseriya woman stands in front of a thatched shelter.
