The bottom of the mount reads Sample "Aristo" Picture, American Aristotype Co., Jamestown, NY. The back is printed with a list of items normally used for photography during the time period and states that it supersedes Albumen. A label where orders can be placed is glued to the bottom. According to the Eastman House website, http://notesonphotographs.eastmanhouse.org/index.php?title=Aristotype, the term aristotype was first used by Emil Obernetter in 1880's and described a collodion-chloride printing-out or gelatin printing-out paper process.
