Boys Going to School

Photogravure
8 1/16 x 6 1/8 ins

George Eastman Museum
Working as a bookkeeper taught White to concentrate on detail and planning. He favored the familiar, using the same subjects over again in the belief that it furthered his understanding of their inner emotions, creating compositions suggested by the subject. Formations, such as Boys Going to School, use ordering and limited depth of field to heighten the beauty of form and texture in everyday events.
