This photograph was taken in 1871 by Robert Gill and forms part of the Archaeological Survey of India Collections (India Office Series). The location of the site is given as 'Jaypur Kotli' in Bloch's list. Major Robert Gill is seated on the base of a broken column in front of the door in this view. Text accompanying the photograph reads, 'An old temple of Chintamani Mahadeva, but of no interest.' Cousens, Central Provinces list (1897). The photograph shows the entrance to the temple with elaborately carved door jambs with figural sculptures to either side and carved exterior masonry.
