Making 4 miles an hr. through the Suez Canal

Taken by a U.S. Navy sailor when Teddy Roosevelt sent the U.S. battleship fleet (the Great White Fleet) to circle the globe (December 16, 1907, to February 22, 1909). The Fleet arrived at Suez January 3, 1909 transited the Canal and then anchored and took on coal at Port Said.
