Unidentified photographer
1936 (claimed)
Garcia Lorca reciting his poetry at the moment of his execution [A fictional recreation]

Gelatin silver print
Internet - Original source ill-defined
This is not a historical photograph but rather a recreation the source of which is unclear.

It has been proposed that Lorca was actually killed at Fuente Grande which is on the road between Víznar and Alfacar. For the context see Ian Gibson, 1983, The Assassination of Federico García Lorca, (Penguin Books) More recently it has been proposed that the execution site was on open countryside near the farm of Cortijo de Gazpacho. (Giles Tremlett, 2011, Final hours of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca revealed), Accessed: 10 November 2019)
