(Dave Porter, January 2022) Cazenovia, NY. View of north side of Albany Street. View probably taken in front of the Hobie and Rouse building that was across the street. The view shows the newspaper offices of the Cazenovia Republican, a hardware store, and the Hatch & Smith Insurance Agency. Mather & Lyon operated out of their Photographic and Fire Art Gallery in the Ten Eyck block in Cazenovia. Henry Mather teamed up with Will Lyon sometime in the early 1870's. Mather would later move to Clear Lake, Iowa where he continued his photography business. Will Lyon moved to Baldwinsville, NY where he also operated his own photographic studio.
