This is one of a very small number of surviving engravings made by Fizeau's process directly from etched plates. Compare with a variant illustrated: Paris et le Daguerreotype, Musee Carnavalet, p.262, fig.4; and another, from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, NY, illustrated in Szarkowski, Photography until Now, p.330.
