Number "73" in the negative, lower left. The shepherd wears a lambskin coat, pats the ram. This very print is the source of plate 31 in Ken and Jenny Jacobson's "Etudes d'aprés Nature. 19th Century Photographs in Relation to Art" where the photographer is referred to as the "Campagna Photographer," active in the 1860's.
