The photograph was received from Abduveli Mirza of Karashai, Perekop Marshal of Nobility
 
In 1866, Karasubazar, the commercial center of Crimea, had about 2,000 Ashkenazi and Krymchak residents, at whose disposal were four synagogues.
 
The photograph was displayed at the Russian Ethnographic Exhibition of 1867 in Moscow.
