The nickel plated viewer is marked with a patent date of "May 19, 1885." The velvet on the hood and bottom of the viewer appears to have been replaced at some point. This actual viewer is pictured of page 106 of Paul Wing's book. It was sold by Paul to Jack Naylor some years ago. Jack Naylor's collection was sold last fall in NYC and this viewer is from that sale.
