The book Giovanni Fanelli, 2011,
Alphonse Bernoud (1820-1889). Firenze, Napoli, Livorno, (Paris: Private edition) clarifies this issue. (pers. email, Giovanni Fanelli to Alan Griffiths, 24 March 2015)
