Photograph of workers leaving a diamond mine in Griqualand-West. Columns of people are walking up the steep rocky side of the mine. There is machinery and buildings around the edge of the mine. Griqualand-West was a British colony in southern Africa. The discovery of diamonds in the area led to vast excavation sites and the mass immigration of workers.
