Matthias Masuren (1873-1938), made his home in Berlin, Germany. He was also known as Fritz Matthias Masuren. He was a well-published German writer and champion of Pictorialism in Germany and Europe. "He attached the greatest importance to gum bichromate, as did most Austrians and Germans." (from footnote p.80 in J.
