The youngest son of the photographer Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879), Henry ran a photographic studio in London. Tennyson had often been photographed by Julia Margaret Cameron who was his neighbour on the Isle of Wight. Tennyson was the most popular poet of the Victorian period and was made Queen Victoria's poet laureate in 1850.
