Cabinet card Private collection of Jack and Beverly Wilgus (Beverly Wilgus, 9 March 2022) This cabinet card in our collection is of a little boy on a rocking horse by Rice of Victoria, Texas. The hand written note reads, "Shelby Thompson Baar born Nov 19 1883 - Picture taken Nov 19/85", his second birthday. I was so happy to find a distinctive name for the darling little boy so went in search of him on Ancestry.com. I was sad to find a link to "Find A Grave" with a story of his death at 11 years old from typhoid fever.
