Individual titles are imprinted on the verso of the square-cornered beige mounts. Period pen inscriptions on the verso indicate these were made for the rarely depicted Brooklyn Sanitary Fair. In the midst of the Civil War, with many men away or dead, these enactments show nostalgia for the home life of the early period of American history. Subjects are "Spinners," "Cooks," "Old New England Costumes," "Wedding," and "New England Belles."
