James Green and James H. Gardiner took x-rays on a Nautilus pompilius shell that was published in 13 November 1896, Proceedings of the Malacological Society of London, Vol. II, Pl. XV, p. 178 (illustration) p. 179 (text).They also published a series of twelve cards of x-rays entitled "British Batrachians and Reptiles."
