French photojournalist, active 1989-2007, known for her photographs of non-combatants, especially children, in war zones. Her work, taken in places like the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Palestinian West Bank, was published in National Geographic, Paris Match, Time, and other magazines. Affiliated with the Sipa Press photo agency for a decade before becoming a founding member of the agency known as VII in 2001, Boulat was the daughter of Pierre, a former LIFE photographer, and Annie Boulat, founder of the French photo agency Cosmos.
