Andrea Modica photographed a young girl ‘Barbara‘ from the age of seven until her tragic and unpredicted death from juvenile diabetes in 2001. The photographs were taken over a 15 year period and serve as a testimonial to a premature death. In the early 1990s she used her friends to participate in the fictitious and unsettling community of ‘Treadwell, NY‘.
