A traveller in Africa, who with his companion Richard Štorch (1877-1922), who organized safaris and dealt in natural products. During his travels between 1888 and 1935 he travelled within the lands now covered by Libya, Madagascar, Sudan, Egypt, Uganda, the Congo, Tanzania and Kenya. As he travelled he took photographs and a collection of 3,163 negatives has survived.
