The name M. Thibault has long been associated with daguerreotypes of the barricadesin Paris on rue Saint-Maur-Popincourt during the unrest of 1848. Research by Olivier Ihl of the University of Grenoble in 2018 has shown that this photographer was Charles-François Thibault.
