Active in Egypt with a studio in Cairo in the via Mousky in the Ezbekiya part of the city (1869-1873). At times he worked with Hippolyte Délié as backmarks for Délié & Béchard are found along with backmarks for each of them separately.
His book L'Égypte et la Nubie, grand album monumental, historique, architectural...: Reproduction par les procédés inaltérables de la phototypie de cent cinquante vues photographiques (1887) was awarded a Gold Medal at the Paris, Exposition Universelle 1889.
Take care not to confuse with works by H. Béchard.
