Photographed the "War in Africa" (1859) and one of his photographs has been found to match an engraving accompanying the text of novelist Pedro Antonio de Alarcón (1833-1891) who wrote about the war in "Historia de un testigo de la Guerra de África". He took portraits, military groups, views of the camp and the city of Tetouan (northern Morocco) following the Spanish occupation.
