Born: 1909, 23 October Died: 1986, March Gender: Male Active: US
American photographer, influential teacher and writer. He made what he termed "refraction drawings" that used a plate of glass on which he drew with dark and light Karo syrup. The syrup ran when he raised the glass to the vertical and then a bulb of light was switched on which refracted the light through the corn syrup and glass onto photographic paper which was developed. One of his portfolios of refraction drawings was printed by photographer Alex Traube (1972-1973).
