Born: 1879 Died: 1961 Gender: Male Active: Ireland
From Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan , when he was a medical student in Dublin he took photographs of street life between 1897 and 1904. He captured the city that would be made famous by James Joyce in his short-story collection Dubliners (1914) and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916). This is the world of gentlemen with top hats and the working man with flat caps.
An archive of his work is held by the National Library of Ireland.
