Born: 1815 Died: 1877 Gender: Male Active: Antarctic
Artist who accompanied the Antarctic Expedition (1839-1843) of James Clark Ross. At the Royal Botanical Garden, Edinburgh there are surviving cyanotypes, prepared by Davis, of specimens collected during the expedition. The dates on the labels show the collection date rather than the date of the cyanotype.
