Kate Smith‘s work may seem whimsical and fey now, but she was much regarded from 1910-15 when she was producing nude or partially draped female studies, her "nymph studies", not dissimilar to the Photo Secession work of White, Seeley and Brigman. She also took more documentary photographs in Belgium during the war.
