He was elected to the Linked Ring Brotherhood in January of 1896 with the pseudonym was "Prelate". Lambert was a well published author writing early in his career several profiles on the photographers Lydell Sawyer and B. Gay Wilkinson in the important publication Sun Artists; later he authored the book Photography for Novices in 1909.
