Photograph of the land where a memorial was constructed to commemorate the death of Napoléon, Prince Imperial of the French. A European man is standing facing right with his left leg resting on a pile of rocks and his right hand on his hip. There is a Zulu man standing beside him to the right. Behind there is a stone wall with plants above it. Hills can be seen in the distance. Napoléon, Prince Imperial of the French served with the British army during the Anglo-Zulu War. He was killed in a skirmish with Zulu fighters in June 1879. Shortly afterwards his godmother Queen Victoria ordered a memorial to be built on the site of his death.
