A red velvet covered toiletry box with daguerreotype in the lid

A red velvet covered toiletry box with decorative gold tooling and grooves with an engraved silver gilt plaque inset into the top. Hidden inside the box lid behind a white padded velvet cover and set into red velvet is a three quarter length, daguerreotype portrait of a man looking to the viewer's left. The man is George Dolland Junior Esq 1853. He holds a velvet top hat, gloves and gold tipped cane. He wears a black jacket and black waistcoat and white shirt, he has a loosely tied blue bow tie and a white handkerchief in his left hand pocket, he wears a gold signet ring on little finger of his right hand. He has a chin beard.
 
On the exterior top of the velvet box is a decorative silver guilt plaque engraved with: 'George DOLLAND Esq to his wife Fanny on her coming of age July 28, 1853'
